In my time in India, I have been very fortunate to get to spend time with the Children of DARE Varanasi. It is an organization that helps street kids in the city and provides food, shelter and education for them and support for their families if they are so fortunate as to have them. This organization is run by amazing generous people and I bring beautiful shawls and jewelry from india to help raise some money for them. This year Father Abhi, the founder, is coming to Nova Scotia and we will have a concert and sale in support of his important work.
At 5:00pm there will be a potluck dinner downstairs in the Acadia Chapel, followed by a brief presentation by Father Abhi on the work that DARE does, and at 7:30, Ken and I will play a concert of Indian music and music inspired by India. I will also have Shawls and jewellery for sale throughout the evening in support of DARE.
