With music provided by accomplished improvising musicians from varied traditions, this event will feature the interplay of interstellar imagery will both incorporate the Discovery Centre’s astronomy imagery as well as live experimental video provided by Upstream’s Artistic Director, Lukas Pearse.

Sarah Frank, violinist for the contemporary bluegrass / Canadiana group The Bombadils
Taral Naik, classical tabla player
Sahara Jane, genre-fluid sarangi player
Tom Richards, jazz trombonist
Brian Borcherdt, indie electronics performer from bands including Dusted and HOLY F*CK
Audiences are encouraged to consider the parallels between scientific and artistic exploration, and to embrace the shared experience of the sky while honouring our own unique trajectories and orbits…
Sahara Jane and Ken Shorley return to one of their all time favourite venues for a night of music, stories, friends and beautifully blended specialty drinks made from the magic of local gardens. The Speak-easy is a special experience! Doors open at 7:30, tix $20.
Quilting is an instrumental improv group made up of Sahara Jane on sarangi and mouth harp, Kim Barlow - guitar/banjo, Mairi Chaimbel - celtic harp and Brian Borchardt playing all manner of things. On November 10th they celebrate their new release on vinyl which just came out on Telephone Explosion Records. They are joined by guitarist Sam Wilson, and trombonist AJAX (Andrew Jackson) Doors open at 7:00
